The puzzle was designed with the use of a computer. A modified version of the program 'BCPBOX' was used. The current version of BCPBOX has a grid-type 'triangular prisms' which can be used to solve the packing problem. This design was awarded the 3rd Prize at the 1992 Hikimi Wooden Puzzle Competition.
